My Las Vegas Photo Album:

My husband Larry and I are enjoying our new "get away" condo in Las Vegas very much! We plan to escape several months of Michigan's winters here. In the peace and quiet away from the family business and all the other doings at home, we feel like honeymooners again, and I have plenty of time to concentrate on my writing. However, we really miss our children and grandchildren!

Please note: due to the size of these photos, they may take a moment to download.

View of our new condo building and one of the swimming pools.

First of all, this photo is of our condo complex and one of the two swimming pools. The area of L.V. we live in is called Sunrise Manor. We are close to Nellis Air Force Base, which is cool because F-16's fly right overhead! We are also only about 15 minutes from Lake Mead, where you can take ferry boat rides to Hoover Dam and the views are gorgeous. We are about a 20 minute drive from the Strip, and about 15 minutes from Downtown LV and the famous Fremont Street. It's hard for this small-town woman to believe you can drive the distance of Coloma to Stevensville in my home state of Michigan and still be in the same city!

The living room of our condo

This is the living room of our new condo. I was in "shopping heaven" buying all of the new furniture and decorator items to achieve a real southwestern flavor. However, I also brought a little bit of home with me in the form of paintings and gifts given to me by family and friends.

Standing on the balcony of our condo.

Here I am, standing on the balcony of our condo. Off our balcony we have a very close view of Sunrise Mountain and to the right is a view of the Strip -- really spectacular at night!

Our view of the Las Vegas skyline

This is our daytime view of the Las Vegas skyline. Those tall buildings are at least 15 miles away from the condo! Isn't it amazing how relative distance is out west? Vegas is huge now -- going on two million people -- and covers about 900 square miles of desert!

The Paris Casino, my favorite place to visit on the Strip.

Last but not least, here is my favorite place to visit on the Strip, the Paris Casino. The casinos are gigantic and so beautiful. The Strip is now too long to walk in a day like a person used to be able to do. I'm enjoying doing a lot of sightseeing but just a little gambling. If I'm going to blow money, I'd rather blow it on clothes!
