Happy Spring! |

At any rate, I have new patio rugs ready to put down, umbrellas out and ready to put into my umbrella tables, cushions for my chairs everything I need to spruce up my flower garden all over again but alas, SNOW!!!! However the weather man assures us of sunshine and temps in the high 70's this weekend. And so it goes in Michigan. Im sure nicer weather is right around the corner (hubby and I have been saying that for about a month now), and summer will finally arrive. When it does, DANCING BENEATH YOU, my new contemporary story will also arrive currently scheduled for mid-August. I cant wait to show you the cover, but things are not quite ready yet and I dont want to reveal everything too soon. It does feature South Dakotas Badlands, which are a major part of the story, as is a gray wolf. I know there are no wolves in the Badlands, but this wolf is trained and more of a pet. The hero in my book is Lakota, and the heroine is a white woman from Grand Rapids, Michigan two different backgrounds, two different worlds, one love that struggles to survive. Though a contemporary, it has the same basic theme of my historical novels Native Americans, the West, and plenty of romance! Seems like my own relationship to time passing is always looking forward to the release of that next book, and that next book will be DANCING BENEATH YOU. I am so excited to be writing my first-ever full-length contemporary romantic suspense, after 40 years of writing and 74 other books. This is a new experience for me, and I think I will write more contemporaries. However, I will ALWAYS write historical romance also, so for those of you who worry there wont be another Jake book or another 1800s western, I promise there will be more.
In fact, an idea for a new historical western is nudging at me and I am making notes for that one, as well as another book about the Harkner family. The ideas never end! I also want to re-write a World War II story I wrote but have never published. I appreciate all of you so much. You are what keeps me going, so keep reading, and as long as the Good Lord allows my brain and fingers to work, I will keep writing! If you are new to my writing -- or even if you want to replace old favorites -- please see my Books in Print page for a complete list of all my books, with most recent covers, publication histories, and Amazon.com ordering links. Eventually, I want to have all of my backlist available for both new readers and long-time fans who have reread the original print versions so many times that the pages are worn out! If you prefer the convenience of e-books, check out my E-books List, where you will find ordering links for electronic versions of my books in several different e-book formats. Brand new Bittner titles are distributed through Amazon.com. But locally in Southwest Lower Michigan -- my books are available at Hardings Market and Linda's Antiques in Coloma and Back On the Rack in Watervliet! You'll find my new books there, as well as an assortment of my older titles. I am excited to have such great outlets for my work right here in and near my own hometown. (Plus, Email me for a personalized autograph.) You can also check with your local library or book store and ask them to order any of my books youd like to read.
I'm hearing from more and more men who enjoy my books, like Chester "Chet" Cripe, a Korean War veteran who was one of my avid fans and a dear friend. Chet died in 2020, and I miss him very much. Chet was a member of the 45th Division of the Army Infantry and was Sergeant of the 4th Platoon. He served on Heartbreak Ridge, Sandbag Castle and Christmas Hill. The Outlaw Hearts series in particular were among his favorites because they are packed with action, western history, and solid family values as well as heart- felt romance. Yes, "real" men really DO enjoy reading my books! Many thanks for your continuing e-mails and notes. YOU keep me going back to the computer to write more books. Many of you tell me that reading my books got you through something physically or emotionally traumatic -- well, WRITING those books does the same thing for me! Keep reading, and I will keep writing! A Colt .45, much like the gun my heroes use - and my own .30-.30 rifle. The Colt is surprisingly heavy and requires a strong hand and arm to draw, cock and fire in one swift movement. That would take a LOT of practice! |
"Your stories keep me up all night...I'm up in my seventies--and your books take me back in time--and I relive my life through your wonderful imagination! Thank you for being there for all of your readers." -- Zella Mae |
